- Project description
We are working on a joint project with Feedgy (Paris-based startup) and the LMD (Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique) on a method to determine the current-voltage (IV) parameters and degradation rates of a photovoltaic (PV) system using power production and environmental data.
- Desired profile
- Graduate student (M1 or M2)
- Basic understanding of solar cells and PV systems required
- Working knowledge of Python (pandas, matplotlib, sklearn…) required
- Background in any of the following fields recommended: renewable energy, mechanical/electrical engineering, data/computer science
- Interest in joining an up-and-coming team of researchers in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques for PV applications
- Tasks
- Research and assess different PV electrical/thermal models
- Test different configurations of an optimization algorithm
- Research, implement, and evaluate different algorithms
- Parse data from a server, apply basic data cleaning techniques, and create an open-access dataset on Github
- Test the developed method on different PV technologies
